Best Gift For a Drone User
Posted on November 18 2015
The best gift for the drone user? Well, that depends on how much money you have to throw around and whether the receiver has a camera drone or if that drone needs a camera. And while hardly cheap, the best gift for a drone user might just be the GoPro Hero4.
"With Hero4, we challenged ourselves to produce the smallest, lightest, most convenient GoPro possible," GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman said of the camera. "Hero4 combines the best of our engineering and user-experience know-how to deliver our most convenient life-capture solution, yet." The latest version of the GoPro, it’s one heck of a camera. Check it out:
The GoPro Hero4 naturally features fantastic resolution. It can record video at 1,920 x 1,080 (full HD) resolution at up to 60 frames per second (fps) and at 1,920 x 1,440 at up to 30 fps (Ultra Wide mode). Nice, right? It also provides 8MP still shots, with single, burst and time lapse modes available.
Built to Last
Designed to withstand all sorts of abuse, the GoPro Hero4 can be submerged in water with depths up to 33 feet. And this is without the waterproof cover! Audio isn’t muffled either when you shoot underwater, and you don’t have to wait as long for the microphone holes to dry out.
This camera comes with a mounting system that allows it “to be used with the vast ecosystem of mounts,” as well as dual microphones, Bluetooth, a microSD slot, Wi-Fi, integrated (non-removable battery), and a microUSB port.
Ease of Use
Incredibly easy to use, the GoPro Hero4 Black surpasses its predecessors in this way thanks to one button: the record button. Press it once to start recording, and press and hold to shoot time-lapse footage. The camera’s only other button is small and located at the back of the camera. It functions as the power button and as the WiFi/Bluetooth button. For more drone accessories and gift ideas, check out our full line of drones and accessories for each model.
