Best-Selling Drones With GPS
Posted on December 25 2015
When shopping for drones, purchasing one with a GPS is a frightfully good idea. After all, buying an expensive drone only to lose it 15 minutes in to your first flight is….not great. A GPS means the quadcopter returns to its launch pad, or in the vicinity of its launch pad, if you lose your radio connection. So what are the best-selling drones with GPS? Let’s find out:
Parrot AR Drone Quadricopter, 2.0 GPS Edition
This nifty quadcopter provides 720 high-definition live video streaming to your smartphone or tablet, and intuitive piloting to boot. It comes with a free Android or iOS app, as well as an automatic stabilization system for additional flight control, whether inside or outside.
Additionally, the GPS flight recorder provides new features: you may “geolocate yourself” via the GPS module, watch your flight in 3D with AR, and more.
The drone recommended for aspiring aerial videographers and photographers, the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ is known for its quality camera, excellent battery life, reliable remote control, and solid safety features. It comes ready to fly and does so autonomously due to its Ground Station function. It easily returns to its launch pad should the quadcopter lose its connection with the radio transmitter.
The Phantom 3 might be the most advanced quadcopter on the market today. Released in May of this year, this drone provides live video transmission to the user’s mobile device, with the built-in DJI Lightbridge “handling all communication to and from” the Phantom 3. Its remote control is built to fit in your hands, and offers a 1.2 mile range. The Return to Home button is located next to the Power button on the remote control.
