When it comes to multispectral imagery for agricultural applications, the MicaSense Altum is the ultimate solution in terms of accuracy, flexibility and power - all in a small, lightweight package ideal for aerial use. The sensor captures images in 6 bands: red, green, blue, red edge, near infrared, and thermal. The capture of these images occurs at the same moment, and this synchronization makes the data easier to align and use for advanced analytics.
Images are captured with five high-resolution lenses, so you can get the level of detail you need on plant health, and create detailed Digital Surface Models, even from 400 ft, increasing flight time efficiency. High resolution also equates to more accurate digital surface model and easier stitching at lower altitudes. And a fast capture rate allows you to fly faster and at lower altitudes without compromising on amount or quality of data. High-resolution imagery can be used to capture data on plant health, phenotype, water stress and soil health, all in one flight.
Integration
With open API’s, as well as multiple interface options, the Altum is ready to work with quite a wide variety of drones from different manufacturers. For plug and play integration right out of the box, Altum is available with DJI Skyport, and ready for integration with DJI drones such as the Matrice 200 series. Planning your flights and configuring your camera is also made simple through programs such as Atlas Flight, Pix4Dcapture, or the DJI Go app.
Data Processing
The outputs are always completely your own - the Altum produces standard 16 bit Tiff files that are easily compatible with a variety of processing programs. With images in hand, it’s easy to process for usable data with software programs like Pix4Dmapper, Agisoft PhotoScan or others. You can also create your own maps or customized data analytics platforms for analyzing your images.
The DLS 2 light sensor onboard the Altum utilized cutting edge technology for irradiance and sun angle measurements, ensuring your data is highly calibrated for enhanced accuracy and reliability. The improved radiometric accuracy also reduces post-processing time, so you get the data you need in hand faster.
