As more public safety agencies begin to purchase and use unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in their daily work routine, there is more need than ever for high quality drone training courses, whether that be individual drone operator training course, or courses to aid agencies in setting up drone programs. At Dronefly, we have put together public safety and law enforcement drone training options to support these operations. Our three training packages are taught by flight instructors with years of experience flying UAS for large metropolitan public safety departments. Their experience and expertise will help give your program and pilots the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a safe, effective and compliant public safety drone program.

Pilots flying for government agencies (Police, fire, search and rescue) can either fly under Certificated Remote Pilots (Part 107), in which case each individual pilot is required to pass the Part 107 exam, or with an FAA COA (Certificate of Waiver or Authorization), which is a more lengthy and involved process but can provide greater flexibility in your organization’s operations. We will assist your organization in determining which method of pilot compliance is the best for your situation. We are equipped to provide assistance and expert guidance for the process of filing for a COA, and have the drone training services necessary to prepare your pilots for the FAA Knowledge Test (Part 107). Our training experts also provide guidance in establishing processes for managing aircraft under COA requirements, including registration, maintenance schedule, flight log management, etc.
