    MULTISPECTRAL IMAGING ELEVATED

    The MicaSense Altum-PT's synchronized multispectral and thermal bands and pan-sharpened multispectral outputs provide twice the level of spatial resolution in multispectral and thermal data compared to the original Altum. 

    The Altum-PT's improved resolution and capability makes it ideal for intensive research and high-value crop management in production agriculture, from plant scientists seeking leaf-level information in their phenotyping efforts to farmers looking for optimal irrigation practices in the face of worldwide climate change.


     

    UPGRADED AG CAPABILITIES

    The MicaSense Altum-PT is a powerful 3-in-1 Ag payload that combines agricultural and remote sensing. Integrated into this system is a 12MP panchromatic sensor and 320x256 FLIR 320x256 FLIR Boson® radiometric thermal sensor, each with five discrete spectral bands. 

    With one flight, users can obtain outputs like RGB color, crop vigor, heat maps, and high-resolution panchromatic images. The Altum-PT’s higher resolutions also open up additional analytical possibilities for your operations.

    Using this multispectral payload, you can detect issues even in the early stages of plant development. 

    Moreover, Altum-PT comes with a global shutter that eliminates distortions on any platform, several APIs to support different processing platforms, and CFexpress removable storage that allows two captures per second for maximum speed and shortest turnaround time.

    Crop Irrigation Scheduling

    It is important to consider the timing, frequency, and duration of irrigation in production agriculture since they directly affect the health of crops. Irrigation managers benefit from thermal imagery from Altum-PT by determining the best watering schedule and amount of water to use.

    Detecting Disease, Pest and Nutrient Deficiencies

    Multispectral images provided by Altum-PT can help users identify problems that affect a plant canopy's physiology. It is common for diseases, insects, and nutrient imbalances to cause physiological damage before symptoms appear in RGB images. These issues can be detected earlier using multispectral indices and composites of pan-sharpened data.

    The canopy temperature is a good indicator of plant stress. With the Altum-PT thermal imager, farmers can monitor plant physiological status and detect subtle changes in canopy temperature, which could indicate water stress.

    Managing Water Pressure And Clogs In Irrigation Systems

    Water, through its cooling effect on the ground and vegetation, helps Altum-PT's thermal imaging system locate irrigation system clogs and leaks. If a field is over irrigated, it will appear cooler than the rest. A field that does not receive irrigation will, on the other hand, experience a higher temperature.
