DroneBeacon Db120 RemoteID Broadcast Module With Battery

The DroneBeacon db120 is a type of Remote ID transponder that can be directly or broadcasted to remotely identify and track drones. It comes with its own GPS and battery. A transponder is also known as an add-on, tracker, tag, or wireless number plate. You can attach the DroneBeacon to any consumer drone using either the 3M dual-lock tape or M5 screw noses. It meets the standards required in the EU and USA, and it has been approved by the FAA for use in the USA.

The transponder is designed to have a long range, thanks to its powerful transmission and antenna design. It supports various transmission protocols for maximum flexibility. If you prefer a transponder that is powered by the drone instead of having its own battery, the db121 or db121pcb would be a better choice. Alternatively, the db122fpv requires an external GPS receiver.

To attach the DroneBeacon to your drone, you can use the provided M3 dual-lock stickers or the M5 screw noses. When fully charged, the transponder can last for over 3 hours. There are four battery LEDs that indicate the current battery level. Configuring the transponder is easy. Simply press the configuration button and connect to the dronebeacon Access Point using any device.

What is Remote ID?

Remote Identification, also known as Remote ID, refers to a wireless identification system designed to recognize drones in close proximity. It comprises essential details such as the operator's information, the purpose of the drone, and its present location. Notably, both the European Union (EU) and the United States (USA) are developing fresh regulations that require drones weighing over 250 grams to have a mandatory form of Remote ID, either through direct transmission or broadcasting. The information transmitted by drones via Remote ID can be utilized by the general public, law enforcement, as well as other drones, to enhance their awareness of the surrounding airspace.
