MicaSense Downwelling Light Sensor 2 (DLS 2): Replacement illumination reference for multispectral missions
The MicaSense Downwelling Light Sensor 2 (DLS 2) is an incident light sensor used to maintain radiometric consistency in professional multispectral imaging. Installed on top of an aircraft with a clear view of the sky, it measures ambient illumination and sun angle throughout a mission. This data is written directly into image metadata, enabling accurate correction for lighting changes during processing. DLS 2 is included as standard equipment with Altum-PT and RedEdge-P sensor kits and is available separately as a replacement or spare accessory.
