To capture accurate and high-resolution images and videos either for professional and personal applications, the Zenmuse X5S comes with a 20.8-megapixel Micro ¾ sensor. This sensor paired with a dynamic range of 12.8 stops, improving color accuracy as well as reduced noise during low light scenarios. But that’s not all.
The Zenmuse X56 can support up to eight different lenses, namely the Olympus M.Zuiko 12mm/2.0DJI MFT 15mm/1.7 ASPH, Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm/1.8, Panasonic Lumix 15mm/1.7, Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm/1.8, Panasonic Lumix 14-42mm/3.5-5.6 HD, Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm/1.8, and Olympus M.Zuiko 9-18mm/4.0-5.6.
Compared to its predecessor, Zenmuse X5S sports a lower profile. In order to achieve this DJI re-positioned the SSDs and image processing into the drone/aircraft itself. This innovative design allows you to easily detach and attach your drone’s sensor and optical system. Aside from accessibility, the change in design also means that magnetic interference is prevented.
Unfortunately, this means that the Zenmuse X5S is not compatible with older drones and handheld gimbals. The DJI X5S is compatible with the Matrice 200, matrice 210, and the Inspire 2.
As mentioned the image processing system called CineCore 2.0 is integrated into the aircraft. This system allows you to choose from three different shooting formats – H.26X, CinemaDNG, and ProRes. Other recording options are available – ranging from 4K/60fps to 4K/30fps.
For easier workflow, the Zenmuse X5S uses a DJI CINESSD card, which allows you to transfer footage from DJI’s CINESSD STATION card reader to your computer without downloading and using any other software.
